David has been playing and performing music since the age of 8. He began with piano, quickly playing in various competitions and recitals under the tutelage of internationally acclaimed pianist, Patti Wiggins. At age 11, he began playing saxophone with which he had received several Jazz awards throughout junior high and high school. At 14, he developed an interest in the electric guitar and has been in multiple Rock bands ever since.
His musical endeavors have taken him all across the country including New York, New Orleans, Boston (where he earned a certificate from Berklee College of Music) and even internationally to London, England.
His focus has since shifted primarily to guitar and keyboards and can be found teaching private lessons to students of any age. In addition to teaching, he can be found performing regular gigs at the Oceanside Yacht Club and plays many other numerous venues in San Diego.
Always staying musically busy, he’s in several bands including Sarah Jane and the Willows and Thieves of the American Dream. He composes original pieces of music as well as rearrangements of popular songs that already exist. Additionally, he is a versatile musician for hire, at home playing in almost any genre.
